Hi all
Saturday today and a day off. Have really enjoyed my first week at work. Have been quiet impressed with the amount of dogs desexed and vaccinated who people bring in to be done at a very low cost, its like a mass production line on a long table out the back 30 dogs a day. Have seen many different breeds from Boxers to the biggest rotteriesI have ever seen (bit if a status thing for the men)..and they don't want to get here you no what's taken off..And so they also don't want a female dog cause she is the one that has the puppies'''''''''''But they are doing a great job educating slowly there is change...I walk the dogs in one area of kennels most are street dogs that are having treatment or had it. Maggot infected wounds are a major problem as the boys fight over the girls. Rabies nd other diseases are also. Seen the worse cases and seen others heal and go back out on the streets where many people feed them. Often see people feed the cats and dogs. I are learning about letting go also, in many ways for those who go back out and for those that pass.. there's at least 20 to 30 dogs in my area. Learning more about dog communication also when I have to go into a kennel to get a dog out. Help a English lady who works there also with the puppies can go from 2 puppies to 30 just like that. Bathing them for the fist time covered in many many things. Seen dogs just melt at a human touch. Feel the little that I do each day is helping many and the dogs show you that. The rabbies team go out on the streets working there way around bringing street dogs in to be desexed and vaccinated. Going tomorrow with the puppy lady to take the puppies to a pet shop for a adoption puppy camp and will do a bit of training with new owners they do adopt out quiet well and people come in looking at puppies and cats and kittens.Im paying a man down the road to be my pilot to take me to wok each day and pick me up $20NZ a week not sure if I ready yet or brave enough hiring a bike and driving is only 10 -15 mins down the road .Have seen monkeys today closer up around the place Im staying drives all the dogs mad and bark. Are seeing more of the bird life watching falcons fly lovely colourful birds also.At night here mostly you hear dogs barking from all directions. I'm enjoying where Im staying and have a good seize room feels like I have made a home here.Washing dry's very quickly even from hand washing some days are hotter 33..Limited Wi Fi here. Will keep in touch.Getting ready to run outside the bred man on his bike comes and blows his loud horn sometimes sells other food.yay just about as nice as a cold shower when you get home from work.
