Have a lovely memory on yelling out goodbye to some of the guys at SOS in the 500 dog compound area it started all the dogs off barking, it felt like a final serenade from them all as I walked out the gate..
Its been a week since leaving Ahangama has felt like a bit of a world wind tour..But has been amazing and seen so much lots of early mornings long trips, cant see all of Sri Lanka but have had a very good taste. The people are just lovely soft, and very willing to engage, very interested in you and love to share there country and proud of it.
Road trip to from Ahangama to Udawalawe 3 hours, where I did a Safari and was just wonderful saw lots of elephants close up and only took 50,000 photos of elephants. One of the things I did want to do for me see animals in the wild. Saw Jackal..a leopard in the distance beautiful birds and the habitant was beautiful. Hired a driver and his Tuk Tuk for 3 hour drive from there to Ella. Ella was a beautiful little tourists town really, but a lovely drive up and over hills.thunder and lighting along the way with heavy rain fog and temp drop with a real sweetie as a driver. Stopped at a huge waterfall..Few days at Ella then 6 hour beautiful scenic ride on train to Kandy (British named these towns).some of it remindered me of NZ saw ferns..past many tea planation's and coffee ones..just loved it train went quiet slow so able to see everything. Kandy is quiet busy little ciy but is lovley has big lake in middle..Went to a amazing huge tooth temple where got quiet side tracked as were DOGS AND MONKEYS there as well..Then dressed up elephants.. Saw monkeys in the trees on my walk around the lake and water monitors lizard's swimming..Enjoyed my day exploring that day.Seems to rain anit most days now here and is a lot cooler it was FREZZING only 22 had to put lots of clothes' on ..use to 28-32 with 80 percent humidity...still cold wearing SOCKS>> couple of days left in Kandy leave here Monday 29th of May into Chennai one night there then next day to Kolkata think I have about a week or more travel up a bit from Kolkata no work for a bit..See its 34 in Kolkata back to sweating and having soaked clothes probably the mot unpleasant thing I dislike of the heat. Now I no how baby's feel when in wet pants...
Love and thoughts to all...
