Sunday 11th June.
Staying in Varanasi until I leave for Delhi on Friday. Still more to see and might visit a few dog rescue places....Lovely to be so close to Ganges and many small temples with many rituals and ceremonies each day. Get a lot more hassled for money..to do tours..buy things and boat rides ..But is small city and everyone trying to make a living. Does get a little tiring some days...Enjoying just wondering  down to Ganges and absorbing all tat goes on down there..At both ends of the Ganges is where the do the cremations of peoples loved ones after being carried through the street often come across that. Sat for quiet a while,when the cremations rituals were taking place have bit more of a insight in the beliefs and culture here now. I like the openness of it all ...There is so much wood gathered in both areas for this and while I were there two people that had passed came through, of course because of the heat things do happen quiet quickly. I certainly have been impacted on the amount of street dogs and puppies just in the area I'm staying and are many along the  Ganges..some very thin and many skin problems..some places I find it hard to look I no what is there and feel abit helpless other than to give food ..have read on two organisation's doing de sexing and medical care to the street dogs and have small rescue centres for re homing, thought might be good to see what they do...Nice to be here and also have some down time before starting my work again down from Delhi.
