Friday 1st September.
Well had abit of a send off on my last night in India in McLeod, with monkeys playing very loud music on my roof and a visit into my room while packing. Think it was a SIGN...................
Were very deep in thought as I flew through the clouds after leaving, of how blessed I truly have been with so many amazing experiences, relationship with both animals and humans and of how much love we can give to all those that need it the most, to help while they are here, or as they journey from this life. Being able to make a difference for some is all I wanted to come and do and feel I have had that opportunity, which I feel honoured to be able to do.
Arrived in Nepal after long wait with delayed flight, but here and in Kathmandu staying in Thamel which is quiet a tourist hub of Kathmandu..Every shop is a Kathmandu shop like the one in Nelson NZ(funny that) shops also with many wonderful grafts and clothes. Yuk and Cashmere. Also lot of hand made wool crafts which are made from New Zealand sheep wool so will probably bring some of them back to New Zealand, they say NZ is best quality wool to use. Is quiet lovely to see all Everest tours and treking advertised and of course our own famous Sir Edmond Hillarys name photo school hospital they also funded. Great restaurants here with all you could imagine options and found bakery with real donuts and more for me it all felt like a xmas over load, after missing maybe a few luxuries. In the streets loud music comes from the bars in ENGLISH that was kinda lovely to hear after non English music for long time. Roads here very very dusty and fumy from cars and motorbikes in very narrow streets and half the people wear face marks and many shops sell them ..me to.......
People are just lovely here and nice colourful Nepalese and Tibetan traditional wear by the local people is a beautiful sight.. Temperature about 27 during the day and cooler at night 20 to 23. Had a lot of rain and big thunder and lighting storm Wednesday night bit of flooding here not been effected by bad flooding further a field. Also here power goes out quiet often.. Working out what sites to see around here and bit further quiet a bit to see. Do hope to get a glimpse of Mount Everest but can be covered by cloud this time of year..
Thoughts and blessing to you all..
