Sunday 13th August
In north Delhi and have enjoyed my time here for a city in India. Not had a lot of rain but warm 33 as rain hasn't come heat humidity builds up. Good down pours the first few days and everything gets immediately flooded everywhere that's called monsoon. Enjoyed sitting at little chai shops and chatting with the locals sharing life stories, nice to have the time to do that. Because its a city more people children asking for money who live on the streets, but people friendly and happy to talk..Met quiet a few travels also and my first New Zealand person we were both so excited she comes from Auckland. She been traveling for five months and hadn't met another New Zealander either.
Tuesday 15th August is independence day celebrating becoming independent, and is like a public holiday flags are flying and buildings lit up and kites are flying so high lovely to see, kites represent independence and free sprites. But means the main area of Delhi has been closed off so couldn't visit a few places, so we go round it all, more police and guns about..
Must admit it here in Delhi is the fist place that have seen transgender and gay people asking for money at traffic lights to all traffic stopping, and who do very much look the part. Rather than very young children with babies and women..
Have decided to go to Dharamsala a week early go there tomorrow. Wanted to give myself two weeks there so I could volunteer at Dharamsala Animal Rescue..It looks beautiful there green grass hills but colder 24 to 27temp. Also a place near by called Mcleod Ganj is few kilometres up the hill this is where Dali Lama comes from and temple there and many others..
My thoughts to you all, take care of each other and self.....
