Sunday 6th August..
OMG August already my time is flying some times hard to believe how fast it all is going.......
Been a eye opening week at spca..I have been busy doing mange bathing treatments and spreading myself around from disabled dogs to puppies and sick hospice cows.
I been amazed yet again of the amount of purebred dogs that have been abandoned we have had one a day when support has been offered to them they say they found it on the street, heart-breaking to see the dogs that are left watching there owner walk away. The amount of dogs for adoption has doubled and are at bursting point in this area. Hopefully some adoption will happen after posts have been done, they all are beautiful natured loving socialised dogs and just need to be wanted and loved from the right person. Some dogs have passed away with injuries and illness to much for them to overcome and some treatments have given some dogs a new lease on life, that has been wonderful to see. The ambulance has brought in just about one road accident victim a day, helping and watching head impact injuries has been good learning and some you can only just be with them for comfort this is more than what they would of had been left on the road.. Other things have moved forward with releasing of more dogs and the disabled dogs got access to the new area next door which gives them twice as much space. A amazing local lady has funded this and is doing another one next to that to give healing dogs brought in from the streets a new area to help speed up there process of being there before release. At ever place I have visited have always come across so many others that are doing there bit and making a difference for dogs in India warms your heart and restores your faith. Seeing all what the spca have to deal with on a daily basis with accepting all animals brought to the gate and ambulance service call outs they do so very well with all that they have. But learning more about the government departments lack of support or help seems to happen often.last week it was medical supplies, this week on Friday they said they have no food for tomorrow you would think they have enough to deal with without this stress as well. The dogs did get food but minimal ingredients in it..That same lady who did dog enclosures went and got big bags of dry food to feed out to the dogs, as they didn't like what was delivered and made sure everybody got food, a very hard reminder of how things are some times for this organisation. I no I'm in India, but if there is no empathy or compassion for animals or the people working with animals what is left.
The Noida SPCA here would appreciate any help and support in any way. This is why I choose to come and volunteer here, as feel every SPCA around the world will always need any help they can get..
Tomorrow I head to Delhi would like to visit or work at other dog rescue centres there.
All my thought to you all.
