Tuesday 15th August
Arrived yesterday Dharamsala and is again a very different part of India. And reminds me a little of New Zealand. Hills are very close here and green grass and trees, a big river runs through with huge rocks, its lovely to hear and see the water flowing .Is quiet a bit cleaner looking on the streets and they have roads that are tar sealed with white lines down the middle different than walking down dirt dusty roads that I'm use to. And some people have grass, a lawn and garden as a yard. I got very excited like I landed on a different planet....seen some beautiful photos of snow on the hills here. Seems quiet peaceful compared to Delhi. Lovely to look out at night and see all the lights from the houses light it all up. ..No tuk tuk or ricksaws here for transport just seen taxi cars, there are hills here for then to climb and also they didn't want the pollution that they create, Must admit the air does feel a lot nicer and fresher to breath that's for sure..And not one person asked me for anything...........Seen the street doggies here but they also have mules that walk about on the roads, they use them for carting thins like they do others places with the donkeys.
Start Thursday at Dharamsala animal rescue..Todays weather made me feel like it is in Autumn in New Zealand, but is monsoon season here also. Lovely also to be able to hear all the parrots and see them flying around.. I have only ever seen a ring neck parrot in a cage/aviary so lovely to see them free and flying, spent quiet a while just watching them ( the locals couldn't work out what I were watching, and kept looking up but couldn't see what I could see) ...
